This module aims to support candidates make informed decisions to develop curricula and plan curriculum evaluation in their own context.
Learning outcomes:
Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:
- Describe the principles of educational planning.
- Describe the different types of academic organizational structure.
- Define and describe the various roles and responsibilities in the field of HPE.
- Describe the main types of policies and procedures that need to be identified and defined in HPE.
- Prepare effectively for the various types of learning and assessment activities.
- Describe the methods used for the monitoring and evaluation of learning and assessment activities.
- Apply the skills for leading and managing educational innovations and improvement
- Discuss and critique curriculum models and theories.
- Explain the SPICES model of medical education.
- Demonstrate understanding of the principles, rationale, and development of a contextual curriculum, including the role of culture in curriculum planning.
- Demonstrate understanding of the principles of integrated curriculum design.
