Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • Critically appraise current theoretical perspectives related to leadership.
  • Explore and critically reflect on change management principles and the application of theory into practice.
  • Critically evaluate the different facets of leadership and how they apply to the workplace.
  • Synthesise their learning in order to create and deliver a plan for change within their own workplace context.
  • Apply theory and principles associated with effective instructional leadership.
  • Justify the relevance of various theory to contemporary instructional programs.
  • Relate trends and issues in society and their impact on supervision, evaluation, and the development of instructional personnel.
  • Make decisions that demonstrate an understanding of the role of effective leadership in student learning and teacher growth.
  • Use assessment data to make decisions for improving instruction and student learning.
