This module aims to develop the skills of health professionals in supporting learners and fostering resilience in a range of contexts (i.e. higher education institutions and the workplace) through engaging activities which bridge theory and practice issues.
Learning outcomes:
- Reflect critically on the relationship between learner resilience and educational support
- Critically reflect upon the multi-dimensional factors needed to provide effective supervision and/or mentoring
- Design a contextually relevant educational support programme
- Appraise their own learning needs to inclusively and effectively support learners
- Describe the main principles of student support.
- Identify the various roles played by a faculty to support student.
- Explain the concept of monitoring and evaluation.
- Act as a career adviser.
- Carry out the various roles of a student advisor.
